02 Mar Eyes of Torment | Roswell Band Photographer

I first met the guys of Eyes of Torment while I was working with another band at The Masquerade in Atlanta, Ga. After they finished their set we threw around the idea of getting them some updated promo photos for their next album. A few email and text later we finally locked down a date and location for their shoot. I arrived at Roswell Mill a little early to scout out a few spots and found three locations that would be a perfect setting for the band. Shortly before the band was scheduled to show up, it started to rain. This changed things a little but we decided to go a head with the shoot and use an area that would protect the band from the rain. That was hiccup number one for this shoot and would not be the last. Roughly 15 minutes before the band was slotted to arrive at the location I got a frantic call from the lead singer that one of his tires blew out and was sitting on the side of the road waiting for the rest of the band to pick him up. Once everyone arrived and changed into their stage attire for the first shot we got rolling with some individual photos of each member and went right into getting a photo that could be dropped into different promotional materials. Luckily with the rain and the shoot running late the background was going black and making it the perfect type of photos.

17 Jan Ratchet & Wrench Magazine | Editorial Feature

Last month I was contacted to do an editorial feature for Ratchet and Wrench Magazine, featuring Greg Sands of Mudlick Mail. With this shoot I showed up to location which happened to be Greg's office. After talking for a few minutes explaining how the shoot was going to unfold, I let Greg return to some business while I set up for the first look. One challenge was finding a way to use the office space and surrounding areas for photos. Like most offices there wasn't anything special to it other than a long conference table. Started off with a basic headshot session on a white background then moved onto using the conference table for a few dramatic and lifestyle shots.

25 Aug Dark Portrait With Ran D Doll | Atlanta Portrait Photographer

One thing that I try to do every year is personal projects to help keep from becoming burned out on photography.  This particular shoot was a lot of fun in that I was able to step outside of normal style and subject.  The whole process has been rewarding and pushed me to try new things.  When Randi posted that she was looking to work with a photographer for a gothic themed shoot, I jumped at the chance.  When talked over what she was wanting from the shoot and set up a date.  Like most days in the summer days in Georgia the rain looked like it was going to ruin our shoot but held out just long enough to get what we needed.  I decided to keep lighting simple since I knew I would be doing most of my work in photoshop.  Below are my favorites from the shoot.
